Okra--how many plants?
« on: May 11, 2022, 12:37:45 pm »
Gardendoc, I guess this question is primarily for you, but anyone with experience planting okra in the EarthBox is welcome and encouraged to comment.

EarthBox planting guide says 8 plants.  I've noticed on Heritage Cottage Urban Nano Farm videos, there seem to be only 2 to a box.  I was thinking of doing 4 or 6, but not 8.  Is only 2 better?

I grew 2 per EB last year and that was plenty. 6 is way too many
Why Google, when you have me?

Thank you for responding, sir.  Is that the only reason, then, and it has nothing to do with overcrowding?  You had many boxes with okra, whereas I will only have one.  I was hoping to have plenty to freeze.  Will production suffer with more than 2 plants?

I think more than 2 plants will definitely over crowd the EB water, fertilzer wise
