I’m on year 3 of using my earth box and it’s always been easy and successful.
However I’m having issues with thyme suddenly shriveling up and dying out of nowhere. I planted two plants about a month ago and last week one suddenly started looking droopy even though the water reservoir was full and soil felt moist, and was completely dead within a day (we are going through a hot snap). I assumed something random went wrong with the plant and just replaced it. But now a week later the second of the original thyme plants is doing the same thing. I can’t figure out what’s going on. They’ve been very consistently watered and the earth box soil is staying nice and damp. We are having very hot weather but they seem to be handling that fine and it’s in the mornings that I’ve suddenly noticed a problem. Could I have accidentally gotten the fertilizer too close to the plants and when the roots mature and try to extend it poisons the plant? Appreciate thoughts!
