Any suggestions for a automatic water?
« on: March 08, 2021, 01:33:33 pm »
I like the earthbox AWS for the most part.  I have two issues the price, and the fitting breaks.  Has anyone come up with a better alternative.  Last year I put a drip irrigator on mine and used a timer and adjusted the times to keep it in sync with what the plants were using.

I found a float value that I think would work if it was a little bit smaller diameter.  Search amazon for V-FL-HUDSON-0.25 .  However its still pricy at $30 per earthbox.  However it wont have the issue with breaking the connector like the earthbox ones.

Any other ideas or solutions?

I've automated the watering for my 136 EarthBoxes with a timer, 1/2" black landscape pipe, 1/4" tubing and 1gph pressure compensated emitters.

Wow!  do you have a picture of all of them.  That sound impressive.

It sounds like a drip irrigation dripper.  is that what yours are?  DO they overflow the boxes or stop when they are full?

I use drippers on all the EarthBoxes. They overflow but I try to time application time according to the seasonal water needs.

Here's just a portion of the Urban Nano Farm
