I figured out the problem with one of the plants....a defective earth box. Two of my boxes are cracked on the bottom and leaking. The leak was noticeable at first but then as the crack got larger more water came out and I knew something was not right. I contacted Earth Box and they had me take a photo of the date underneath the box along with a photo of where it is leaking and it turns out, it is part of a defective lot of boxes.
I then decided to take a closer look at a box I only have flowers and one tiny tomato plant in....I figured the water was coming out a few seconds after I started pouring because the tiny plant and flowers did not utilize as much as my big tomato plants. Nope. This box is also leaking from the bottom middle.
I'm really upset because Earth Box should have done a mass email and recall of the defective lot of boxes instead of waiting for people to come to them with dead plants. I spend a lot of time and money on my plants only to find out its not something I am doing wrong or a disease. Huge disappointment.
As for the plant in the 2nd photo, it is still producing tomatoes but the leaves are ALL brown around the rim. I agree it is not early blight but something is causing the leaves to turn brown around the edges. There is not sign of any pests and it has not spread.
