I made these cages using the pea fences available through a couple of onliine/catalog companies. I took photographs as I went so hopefully this will be helpful to others. I made these in spring 2016 and they worked great that year. I never got around to planting a garden in 2017, but I kept these in the garage and will put them back out this spring. It takes 2 sections of pea fence to make 1 cage. I think each pea fence order includes 2 pieces, but I can't remember that for certain. I ordered the wire clamps online as well - not sure what company, but I believe it was mentioned in an old post on here. Sorry for not remembering the details - I never got around to posting this in 2016 and then the forum went down, so I'll do my best. If nothing else, the pictures will hopefully be helpful.
I drove sections of rebar into the ground: 2 posts per box, set on opposite corners on the diagonal. I assembled the cages, set them on top of the box, and then used zip-ties to attached them tightly to the rebar posts. I know others have drilled holes in the box rims and ziptied to the boxes directly. I didn't want to drill into the boxes, plus I also felt the rebar posts going into the ground would help provide more stability and also prevent the box from tipping over in high wind. The taller the rebar, the more support/stability you get. I believe mine are about 3-4 ft in length, and I drove them about 8 inches into the ground.
