Has anyone had luck planting snap peas? Do they need a trellis?

Yes and Yes.

I planted the type with edible shells. Never got to harvest any because my children would eat them after school as fresh snacks right off of the plant.

It's been awhile but If I remember correctly they grew 4 or 5 feet tall.

I knew I should have planted them! grrr I wonder if its too late. I have an extra earthbox with one orange pepper plant that doesn't seem very promising. I could take that baby out and have a full earthbox to plant more tomato plants or snap peas but I think one needs to plant the latter early in the season.
