This will really help us, after the poll concludes, and we will share the results and tell you the purpose of the poll. If you have comments about your experience with these and only these particular companies (plants or seeds), please share. Other seed company experiences, please post in another topic. Thank you!

I get several varieties from Territorial mainly cause they are not that far away from my place and their catalog does have tons of information.

Love Territorial Seed for the great information, good variety and great germination. Johnny's is right up there, though. Tough to choose between them.

Territorial is OK, but I've have a few germination problems with some of their seed. Shipping is high (west coast to east), but I had good experience with their customer service.

Johnny's is too expensive for me. Gurneys is sort of a mail order Big Box store, but most  prices are reasonable. Selection is very limited.

My favs are not in the survey. Plus, I tend to go to the specialty imported seeds, or tomato seed suppliers.

#1 is Pinetree Seeds bcuz they have a large variety made for Container grown & price nicely ( often not many seeds  per pack

#2 Sandhills Preservation is good source for organic and heirlooms

# 3 Baker's Creek ( pricey) but hey seems to have refreshing selection each season as. Well as rare & hard to find exotics

#4 Terriory good quality seeds,no germination issues yet
btw checkout their hybrid watermelon made just for container gardening

Burpee Hybrids.  But only when on sale. Their addition of $2.99 shipping helps their competitive position a lot.  IMO, they have some best-in-class hybrid varieties.  And in my experience (almost 50 years gardening now), if you can find a hybrid variety that has the taste you like, it is nearly always going to be hardier and more disease-resistant than OP.

I get most of my seeds from the plants. I started my peppers, watermelon, Cantaloupe, corn, and beans all from the supermarket. My tomatoes came from these crazy cherry tomatoes I got from a veggie tray.
Also look on line on how to propagate and harvest seeds from flowers.  I will never pay for seeds again if I don't have to.
Finally if you have a plant that did really well...save some of the fruit for the seeds.
