Tomato Fail

My tomatoes have been giving me an awful time this summer. Aphids, ber, bacterial speck etc. I've never seen aphids before this summer. There is also some teeny tiny flies that are everywhere. Never seen these guy either. I looked online to identify them but couldn't find anything.

Do you have leaf miners in the mix, result of the larvae tiny fly-like bugs

I have leaf miners in tomatoes and peas.  Waiting for a non rainy day to spray.

I have these gnat like bugs everywhere. But on one plant there's green teeny tiny larvae on the underside of the leaves and then they turn white. I'm going to take some pics.

Spray with Captain Jack's Dead Bug Brew, this contains spinosad an organic insecticide that is very effective against caterpillars and leaf miners. A late evening application is best as this will provide protection for pollinating bees as they're usually not flying then.

Ok, so I took some pics of the green larvae that I can't get rid of regardless of how much need oil I spray. It's only on one plant. Then I took a pic of a bunch of the dead tiny gnat like things covering my tomatoes and basil.

I have something by Monterey that is similar. I've used it on my basil when I thought there were caterpillars but turns out it's a different pest munching on my basil. I've NEVER had these issues before or seen any of these insects. I was thinking it's because I planted using all organic soil etc. I had a great selection of heirlooms until disease hit:( I ordered the transplants from Laurels Heirlooms in Cali bc I can't get any of these around here unless I want to start from seedling. I was in awe at how well they were packaged and were gorgeous when they arrived. That was until I touched them...sigh I think the Carmelo has bacterial speck. I pulled a green tomato before it got a "speck" on it and let it ripen inside. It was tasteless. Oh how I wish this forum was up and running when I really needed help. I'm using Texas Tomato Food now bc it's easy to pour in the water spout. I started using GardenDocs special sauce (treat) when I thought my plants were doomed. They actually perked up. I'll take pics of the Carmello and others that I think are diseased or have a virus. I pulled 2 plants a few weeks ago bc I didn't want whatever they had to spread. This is definitely a learning experience.

Looks like aphids to me. And you're surprised that your hungry plants perked up after getting a snack

Not sure what this says but I'm done planting organic tomatoes. I have bought and used every spray out there and nothing gets rid of these aphids. They just keep multiplying! This is the first time and year I've ever seen an aphid. Next year I will use a chemical spray at the first sign of one. What a disappointment
