too much lime
« on: April 16, 2020, 08:03:25 pm »
I planted nine earthboxes with vegetables in the past week. I just realized that that I inadvertently mixed in 2 cups of dolomite lime( 30 oz ) instead of one pound in each box. Have I totally ruined my plantings?
Does anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks

You didn't mess up. Two cups of dolomite is the correct dosage, especially for a first planting.
Why Google, when you have me?

Gardendoc, thanks for the reply. I feel better about it.  Years ago when I bought the earthboxes I thought the instructions said 2 cups but when I read instructions online recently it said 1 pound. volume vs weight-confusing. By the way I started using earthboxes after you came to Columbus MS a few years back and gave a talk for the garden club related to using them for your tomatoes.
