Title: Snack and basil?
Post by: Teagan on August 03, 2018, 11:46:30 am
Can I use the snack for my basil? The bottom leaves are looking a tad light green/yellowish.

Sure, the snack is not only for tomatoes, but lower leaf yellowing can be a natural occurrence from growing as lower leafs often have their nutrients translocated to the active growing point. Now some folks don't like to fertilize herbs, you could go ahead and see if it helps or simply snip the yellow leafs off.

I have added calcium nitrate to herbs and lettuce for the nitrogen, and it works well.  I don't add it as often - maybe every 3 - 4 weeks - instead of weekly, with  tomatoes and the like, as the plants are much smaller, and it would be easy to over-fertilize.

You're using the snack as it should be used.
