Two part question:
Has anyone had success with eggplants in the jr. box?
Also, have you found the need to stake eggplants?

I grow eggplants in the regular boxes, and yes you do have to stake.

I grew one each of a hari and ichiban EP in a regular EB last season, and they got so overloaded with fruits that they produced far more EP than 5 plants I had growing in the ground!   I had so many EP that I ended up drying a bunch of them at the end - as much as I love them, there were only so many I could eat! LOL   They did so well that this season I am growing only in EB - one each of four different varieties.

Dave  What do you do with your eggplants?  How do you eat them?

Linda,

Most of my eggplants go into Asian dishes, though I cook a lot in ratatouille, and other tomato dishes, as well.  A favorite dish of mine is a Szechwan eggplant dish, and I also make a lot of Thai curries with them.  The dried ones I have put in several Indian curries; letting them simmer about a half hour, along with the dal, and maybe some potatoes, softens them completely, and thickens the dish.
