Just a quick review: When the Ultimato came out, I securely set them up inside the EB's. But when the tomatoes and peppers grew tall, they were pulled out of the box, although planted deep.
The next year I set them up AROUND the boxes, driving the stakes into the ground and they stood firm the entire growing season.
I found this setup to be much sturdier and secure than the mesh string EB kit.

Agreed. I use these for most crops other than tomatoes, I still just stick them in the EBs.

My tomatoes and peppers grow near a fence. We attached deer fencing along the back of the fence. I put one ultomato pole in the hole with the tomato and tie the pole off to the fence. When the tomato is taller than the pole, it gets attached to the fence. Removed popup greenhouse yesterday. Bolseno Tomatoes in there were leaning over, at least 5 ft. tall.
I sometimes use an ultomato pole to keep broccoli and cauliflower from falling out of the box.
