Hi all,
I just brought an earthbox and am starting beets from seed. Do the instructions stay the same or do I have to do anything different. Thank you

I haven't planted beets but I did plant beans from seed and they did just fine. I also have Dill and a few other herbs that I grew from seed. The one thing I didn't do was sprinkle a bit of water on the top after I planted the seeds. I think this might have helped with germination. I poked holes in my black cover for the beans and then kept an eye on them for when they sprouted to make sure they grew up threw the hole.

Large seed like beans, cucumbers and corn work very well directed seeded into our EarthBoxes. Small seeded veggies like tomatoes and peppers are best bought as transplants or germinated in small pots and then transplanted into EarthBoxes

Hi. I'm starting from seed for my first foray into Earthbox. Just planted snap peas and planning to plant cucumbers in a few weeks when it's warmer. Should I still use the mulch cover when planting from seed? How will I make sure the seedlings grow through the holes in the mulch cover?
Also, when planting from seed, should I water the seeds from the top as the instructions recommend for seedlings or should I just water from the reservoir?
Thanks so much!

The seeds will find the boles above them and water via the reservoir
