This is just a personal request to help someone (me) with a weak mind...

Recently, there have been quite a few posts that were one very long paragraph.  That makes it a bit, well, a lot, hard to read---everything seems to run together.

I am not yelling, just trying to make a request that you hit <enter><enter> at appropriate places in your exposition to make it more readable.  Please?

Thanks.

----------------------------- An Example ---------------------------------------
Why, blast your eyes, Bildad, cried Peleg, thou dost not want to swindle this young man! he must have more than that. Seven hundred and seventy-seventh, again said Bildad, without lifting his eyes; and then went on mumbling—for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also I am going to put him down for the three hundredth, said Peleg, do ye hear that, Bildad! The three hundredth lay, I say. Bildad laid down his book, and turning solemnly towards him said, Captain Peleg, thou hast a generous heart; but thou must consider the duty thou owest to the other owners of this ship—widows and orphans, many of them—and that if we too abundantly reward the labors of this young man, we may be taking the bread from those widows and those orphans. The seven hundred and seventy-seventh lay, Captain Peleg. Thou Bildad! roared Peleg, starting up and clattering about the cabin. Blast ye, Captain Bildad, if I had followed thy advice in these matters, I would afore now had a conscience to lug about that would be heavy enough to founder the largest ship that ever sailed round Cape Horn. Captain Peleg, said Bildad steadily, thy conscience may be drawing ten inches of water, or ten fathoms, I can't tell; but as thou art still an impenitent man, Captain Peleg, I greatly fear lest thy conscience be but a leaky one; and will in the end sink thee foundering down to the fiery pit, Captain Peleg. Alarmed at this terrible outburst between the two principal and responsible owners of the ship, and feeling half a mind to give up all idea of sailing in a vessel so questionably owned and temporarily commanded, I stepped aside from the door to give egress to Bildad, who, I made no doubt, was all eagerness to vanish from before the awakened wrath of Peleg. But to my astonishment, he sat down again on the transom very quietly, and seemed to have not the slightest intention of withdrawing.

I don't bother to read posts when the author doesn't respect his or her readers.

Linda, all is well.  We are never mad at anybody--well, almost never  Smiley.

And you were not singled out for sure; when I wrote the request, I didn't even remember who --and there was more than one--wrote the long paragraph posts!

Post on!

Ah, Don  Quioxte. I can tolerate the long, multiple-topic paragraph as well as poor grammar and spelling! At least these writers are actually expressing themselves with the written word and usually do not employ Twitter-speak! Be patient and provide a good example.

I am one of these members that have been requested to PLEASE break up the paragraphs - This is a common thing I have heard throughout the years but many have gotten used to it.  I certainly do not do it to offend or confuse anyone as I myself have comprehension problems at times even though I have an IQ of 168+ - I work on the internet for all sorts of jobs and some require that I do my best to explain the best I can things I am trying to educate and or learn myself.  My friends all know me to "write novels" which would be entirely true again leading back to the jobs I have or have had.  For me, I type exactly the way I would speak but I do remember to take breaks and breathe in between because I so not have ADHD LOL - just type for a living and put everything in one whack so it doesnt look "all broken up and then quite possibly more confusing !! I'm sorry, but I disagree with your thinking. A high IQ isn't a good enough reason to ignore simple rules of punctuation, grammar, and let's not forget etiquette. Those rules were created to make reading LESS confusing, and to organize and clarify the thought processes of the writer. You are trying to communicate with the reader... rambling on and on continuously, without proper pauses and breaks only communicates indifference to the readers. The number of requests support this.

so what's the reader to do? Suffer through your posts or simply stop reading them. Or... you could take the hint and stop expecting everyone else to just "get used to it".

I simply can't, and won't, suffer through reading long paragraphs.  My mind cannot cope with the effort of trying to take it in.

However, though I suggest that people write readable stuff, not doing so is their choice.  I just won't read it.

Ditto....Movrshakr and Mickie...

I find it very difficult to read so many lines together and also skip reading those long, compressed posts !

I have started to break them up after the first post was mentioned about the long paragraphs because I know that I am guilty of this that is all.
