any thing else you guys can think of offhand that i need to add to the shopping list?
You have a good list of basics there.
You did not say how you were going to start the peppers but if I were you I would start with seedlings from a nursery rather than starting from seeds since it is getting a little late in the season for most areas (although you did not say where you are located).
You could order some calcium nitrate (we call it the snack) for a once a week supplement (you can get it on eBay).
You might want to have some basic insect repellant or insecticidal soap on hand. Bugs that like peppers include aphids, whiteflies, and the dreaded hornworm (larvae of a big disgusting moth), to name a few.
If you are in a real hot area a little shade cloth for the peppers in the afternoon is nice (or you can put the box in an area where they get a little afternoon shade).
The ultimate accessory is the automatic watering kit. You can always add that later, after you see how this all goes.
Be sure to watch the videos on how to set up the boxes and make sure they are wicking before you put in the plants. That seems to be the most common problem for a newcomer.
I am sure that I will think of more stuff.
