The price of fresh produce is ridiculous. I cooked a turkey the other day and my husband made a request for brussel sprouts to accompany it. They were $3.00 for a twelve ounce container. It wound up costing me more for the vegetables than it did for the bird.

NO CONTEST on store verses "grow your own".  The market has to consider several factor we growers laugh at; no transportation, spoilage due to being ripe.or keeping in stock ( shelf life).  .... etc. Beside missing the pride of growing your own (country spirit).

True. Yet, with all the time I've been spending this season, the cost is very high. But the benefits on so many levels make it worth while.
