Well next to the gorgeous pictures from Earthbox members here who live in the warm and sunny south, my little plants seem small
...but they are healthy! I started my Earthboxes on April 21. Here's my progress from April 21st with a comparison of them on May 7th.

Geraniums 4/21/2007My favorite spring to fall flowering plant -- geraniums. Nothing but geraniums. See the pretty geraniums. The geraniums are growing. Grow geraniums, grow! Grow, grow, grow!
Geraniums 5/7/2007The geraniums are going great guns! The only reason you don't see as many blooms as originally is because I pruned off the dead heads to encourage new growth. (Wow, listen to that. I sounded really official and garden savvy -- dead heads...lol). What you can't see are the tons of new buds about to burst. I was so excited about the geraniums I got hanging pots, too. My husband bought a bunch of brick squares and made me a little makeshift surface so I can water everything easily. He is the BEST husband. Didn't he do a great job?
Herbs 4/21/2007This is the herb garden. There are 8 plants total. Left rear are lavender, sage, rosemary and oregano. Front are parsley, basil, thyme and chives. Ok so the chives look like a weeping willow but keep hope alive!
Herbs 5/7/2007Wow look at how the chives popped up in my little herb earthbox! Before it looked like a kid with droopy drawers. The lavender, basil, rosemary, parsley, oregano and sage are also doing very well. Unfortunately, the thyme bit the dust. I keep it there only because it has two little branches that are still green so I keep hope alive.
Tomato, Bell Pepper, Marigolds 4/21/2007This box has one tomato plant on the rear left and one bell pepper plant on the rear right. In front are 4 small marigolds (the herb variety) to stave off buggers and to add a little color to the box. You can chomp on them in a salad, too. So the Earthbox instructions say only two big-time climber kind of plants per box. I have a stake kit that fits in the holes on either side of the box for when the veggies start getting tall and strong and bearing humongous record-breaking fruit. They will write articles in the local paper about me. The National Enquirer will want to "know". Just wait -- you'll see! I'll be on You Tube for real!
Tomato, Bell Pepper, Marigolds 5/07/2007The tomato and bell pepper plants are getting taller and fuller and the marigolds (especially the 1st and 3rd ones) have gotten very bushy. Even the 2nd marigold is hanging in there. I was sure that one would die but while small, it's holding its own! The bell pepper actually already has a little pepper growing! Just look at its cute little pepper butt sticking out!
