Hello all,

They said we would get rain overnight and into today.  Today they said rain until Friday maybe late Friday.  I thought Ida was supposed to be on the gulf coast.  Seems Ida blew over the gulf and decided she needed a break -- she has stalled right off the Mid-Atlantic coast!!  I wish I had a nontoxic roof and a rain barrel!  Oh well.... The sweet pepper plants are still in EB and are loving this rain - might get another flush of baby sweet peppers.  The beets, chard and lettuce are really happy!!  Lots of rain and temps in the high 60's all weekend and next week - is this really November??

Yes, the rain has been really nice.  It has been raining off and on all day.  All 5 of my rain barrels are now filled to the top. I still have green peppers, hot peppers, broccoli, egg plant, peas, and tomatoes producing.  I am still waiting for the brandywine to turn red.  I have some that are about 4-5 inches across.  Friday the low is supposed to dip into the upper 40's, don't know if I should pick the big ones or wait it out.  Deb

We have clouds....and no produce in sight till next May or June!  I did see Ida making a mess again out of coastal....New Jersey on the news this morning. I hope Mickie is staying dry, I'll come to help build an ark, if needed Mickie Strike that, not with this cast, I am not ambulatory. OK,  I will be happy to research/look on the internet for ark building plans just let me know. I am glad you 'southerners' are enjoying your crops.

OK, just because you opened the door.  Still harvesting heirloom tomatoes and peppers.  Leaf lettuce, brassica greens, and bok choi are looking good.  Started growing micro greens, can not grow enough for the market.   Cool

I'm just far enough inland that I don't need an ark... yet. Still, it's a royal pain taking 3 doggies out to their pen several times a day and having to dry them and myself off. The morning 'out' is especially painful, having to crawl out of a nice, toasty bed. Thanks for the offer, anyway.  Cheesy

I think I've missed something.  I noticed you were gone again, but figured you were off training EarthBox salespeople all across the country.

What's this about a cast?  Not ambulatory?

Details, please.  And write real slow - I can be dense sometimes.  ;>

The fall garden is coming along.  Here are some photos of small and large cherry tomatoes, and a nice cluster of cherokee purple tomatoes.

Deb..not to highjack this post, that is not my intention, but Oct 24th I tore my Achilles tendon, and had surgery the 28th. I got out of the hospital Oct 31. I am in a cast from knee to toes for 6 weeks and then a cam walker (a big black boot) for 3 months. So, I am pretty much confined to my home (kindly referred to by me as house arrest) for the six weeks. EarthBox is kind enough to let me work from home. The good news, the total rehab is about 6 months....so just in time for the important stuff...gardening and golf I should be up and running again.  Everyone asks how I did it and then after I tell them how, those same people say....kind of lame, maybe you should make something up. So I am open for suggestions....I did it by walking, slipping in the mud and my left foot sticking in the mud, while I fell forward.

Jim.....AKA weedbreeder....that almost got a "now that's funny from me"   And Cush yours was pretty good.....I am not exactly a dunker, unless you are talking cookies, krimpets, or donuts, but I did play 4 years of varsity BB in high school, but at 5'5" and getting wider, there's no hoop stuffing in me.
