Welcome everyone! i would like to take this chance to intruduce myself and also express my happiness to be joining the earthbox family!

My name is charles consagra with Novation Networks and i am the new webmaster / hoster for the earthbox site and forum.

first of all let me take this time to appologize to everyone about the minor glitches that we have been having since the server move. we have been working diligently to get the forum back to normal now that we have it moved to our new system. as everyone knows, with change there are always a few tweaks to be made, so thank you for your patience in all of this.

If you personally are experiencing any issues with the forum, please PM me at cxc8190 or post to this topic. i will be more than happy to assist with any issues that you will be experiencing. finally, yes as some of you might notice, some posts might have "dissapeared" from the beginning of the week. this is a product of the switch from the old forum to the new forum located on my servers. This wont happen again as we now have the forum permanantly migrated.

Hope everyone is enjoying their earthbox product and i think that its time for me to get some! any suggestions for the extreme newbie?

There seems to be issues with posting and viewing pictures
I am getting this message when I try to load a picture, and some pictures I loaded a while back are now coming up as red x's in the thread whereas they were visible before

"The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved."

update on the viewing of pictures, i am uploading the old attachments now, seems that some of them didnt copy over with the server move, thats why you arent seeing them. i am estimating 1 hour upload time before the pics will come online, after that, we will be all back to normal with the attachments and avatars.

Hi Charles-

How come you started this thread on the 6th, and as of late in the day on the 8th I was still getting the maintenence message?

I've noticed lots of postings in the time period that I wasn't able to get on.  I checked several times a day and would find it hard to believe that I always picked the exact time you were moving something. 

I'm not paranoid or anything, but I know other people got back on long before I did.  I even emailed a couple of posters whose address I have and they bounced too.  (Linda, email me please.)  I finally got on after I sent a note to EarthBox Customer Service.  Glad they managed to fix my porblem so quickly.  ;>

Anyway, Charles I hope you feel welcome and appreciated and quickly buy a few boxes so you can become as crazy as the rest of the asslyum.  It's great to be back and the only thing this forum needs fixed is the lack of a spell checker.  ;>

if you were getting the message that the forum is down for maint. then it sounds to me like for whatever reason your computer never got the update that earthbox is now on my server, as the old forum is  shut down and you were probably looking at that one, this could be an issue with your isp not getting the update or your computer not flushing its information to get new ones. anyway, this type of issue wasnt your fault nor ours, sometimes the computer just doesnt update. im happy to see your on now. have fun and keep thoes issues coming.

Mickie: I can't speak for Charles but I can say this, the forum move is just the beginning of many improvements. And I believe you will be able to to toggle or manipulate between the 2 websites. And is there something that can come out of my computer and maybe  gently slap me to remind to use spell check?

FireFox has an automatic Spell Checker.
The Google Tool Bar has a spell checker and works well with Internet Explorer.
